Chrysocolla from Congo, black base

This beautiful turquoise stone was green a long time ago.. Yet it is absolutely natural. Chrysocolla is an evolution of the very green Malachite. This mineral is found in copper mines that underwent oxidation several million years ago. This one comes from the province of Katanga (Congo), more especialy from " l'etoile du Congo" mine in lubumbashi, and its design is of course unique. We see some small tips of the original green.
