This eye that can turn in all directions is a sphere of Brazilian Agate. The agate is grown by successive deposits of Silica (calcedoine) dissolved in water (hydrothermal solution) and seeping into the soil. The infiltrations will follow one another over the months and years, with minerals and oxides dissolved in this water that can vary with time. And it forms successive layers with lighter or darker lines.
