Slice of SERICHO meteorite. Kenya.
PUMI2351
This bright slice with translucent areas is a pallasite meteorite: the Sericho meteorite. Originated from the region between the heart and the mantle of a small asteroid, destroyed following a violent collision. It is composed of translucent olivine crystals included in an iron/nickel matrix, which can be very aesthetic once cut and polished. Almost 3 tons were found on an ellipse of about 45km in the province of Isiolo in Kenya, of which almost one ton was kept by camel herders in the village of Habaswein. We have selected the perfect size pieces for our vertical springs display... Because seeing through a meteorite 4.5 billion years old is not available for everyone in the world. 107Gr.
