The Italian Paesina is as beautiful as it is intriguing! This «pictural» stone was formed step by step, 70 million years ago. This sedimentary rock, mainly made of compact limestone and clay, has undergone many tectonic movements throughout the ages, creating micro-cracks through which manganese and iron oxides have infiltrated.
The intense chromatic changes concern the outer layers, while the centre stay more homogeneous, creating poetic landscapes in ruins on a blue/grey background.
