This complete crystal of Gypsum is French, and comes from the village with the evocative name of Caresse in the southwest. The very high transparency of this crystal as well as this typical fishtail shape, are the signature of the most beautiful pieces found in this mine. Yet when you look at the thickness (photo 6), it seems opaque. But this large pieceis really transparent! On brass base.
