Agate slice

This very natural Brazilian sculpture looks like a cubist face. This natural stone is a slice of agate 21cm high. Initially, an air bubble formed a small pocket stuck in the cooled lava of a Brazilian volcano. Much later, water seeped into the porous lava, loaded with minerals and iron oxide. There have been several successive waves, with temperatures that have varied greatly. The result is astonishing: two red dots of iron oxide in a rather milky Agate heart.
