collection of 6 Fish jaws in a beaded frame
PU1146
Feeding is vital for all the species on earth. And each jaw corresponds to a particular diet. These fish are all very different. In the center we recognize the beak composed of 4 large teeth of a blue spotted puffer fish (arothron caeruleopunctatus), below, teeth made to grind coral of a Trigger fish. bottom left a ray that grinds shells with its solid teeth (the guitar ray), opposite right, the jaw with exagonal teeth of cow nose ray(rhinoptera bonasus). At the top right another Ray, the Bat Ray (Myliobatis californica). And at the top left a small shark of 70cm, the "cooky cutter" Dalatias licha. He cuts a ball of flesh on the sides of seals, whales and dolphins... Each his diet!
