Gold natural agate slice

This golden Agate from Brazil is natural. The water that infiltrated this ancient geode for thousands of years was more or less loaded with manganese and iron oxide. It is precisely the Hematite that gave this red circle all around, varying according to seasons and years. But cut in a thin slice, it becomes translucent and lets the light pass through, especially on the pictures 7 and 8 where it is illuminated from behind: a remarkable contrast that transforms red into gold.
