Chrysocolla and malachite -Congo-
PUMI1647-2
This mineral featuresbalmost as much blue chrysocolla as green malachite. A single polished face reveals their colors and patterns that resemble a textile pattern creation. Yet they are natural although exceptional. This mineral was formed in a copper mine within the "copper belt" of the Congo -a vein that stretches for several hundred kilometers between Zambia and the Congo- Malachite was formed by oxidation of copper deposits, several million years ago, and the blue Chrysocolla, is itself an oxidation of Malachite by sedimentation with high oxygen supply, that occured more recently.
