“Jeepite” block – Ohio, USA

Jeepite is not a rockl. But it’s a real curiosity. And beautiful too! The story: on the manufacturing lines of the Jeep Wrangler in Ohio, USA, the carcasses are painted on a cart that then goes through an oven. Since the car body paints are fired at 70 degrees celsius. And the same cart will again go to the oven with another car, perhaps of a different color, and so on for weeks. After several months, the cart is finally cleaned because hundreds of cars have received a color. This part therefore comes from a pipe or from the back of the cart: overspray of paint. By working it asymmetrically, we bring out all these colors.
A contemporary curiosity, halfway between artificial geology and automotive archaeology, it embodies the spirit of the 21st-century cabinet of curiosities.
