White coral ACROPORA LATISTELLA
CO722-6
ACROPORA LATISTELLA is a coral native to the Solomon Islands. It grows in the upper few metres of water, where sunlight is strongest. Its sinuous branches, sometimes curling like waves, form robust structures that once sheltered a multitude of small organisms. Its natural colour is beige, occasionally dotted with purple polyps. Once mineralised, it reveals a dazzling white skeleton that seems carved from porcelain.

Each specimen comes with its CITES certificate, the mandatory document that ensures its legal provenance. Such authorised pieces are becoming increasingly rare, a natural consequence of the tightening of international protections.
