AMETHYST stalactite slice (Uruguay)
PUMI2730
In this AMETHYST stalactite formed inside a volcanic cavity in Uruguay, the center reveals a band of AGATE with soft green and grey tones. This mineral formed first, at the pace of water flows loaded with oxides during millennia.
Only later did the AMETHYST crystals begin to grow outward, following a change in the chemical composition of the mineral-rich fluids circulating through the rock.
This subtle shift from matte to translucent tells the slow metamorphosis of mineral matter. Displayed on a rotating brass stand, this natural curiosity captures the delicate balance between geological process and human observation.
