A Spider-crab Maia squinado, the species found all around the Mediterranean sea. After the month of July these crabs sink beyond 50 meters deep to hide away in the cool water The males have claws a little larger than the females, but this one was still young when it was catched in a fishing net in Italy. In any case the right dimension to enter this frame and be observed with the magnifying glass always ready at the end of its chain.
