Anaea Nassus, or Fontainea anessus, is the most beautifull sub-species out of the 87 of the Anaeini genus! They live in the neo tropical area, especially the Amazon. It's a leafwing butterfly. The undersides of their wings bear a strong resemblance to the dead leaves, tree bark or boulders on which they settle. They can be observed when imbibing mineralised moisture from damp ground, and river banks. They generally keep their wings closed when at rest. But not in our tall brass and glass display!
