Shiny Galena - Septemvri Mine (24,2Kg)
PUMI2375
The galena of the Septemvri mine (former 9th of September mine) in Bulgaria is distinguished by its cubic crystal structure and its characteristic metallic silver hue. This lead sulphide, which was called silver lead, often contains silver ore and that is why it was mined. The galena of the Septemvri mine is prized for its well-formed crystals, and the shards of this block are particularly remarkable. In 1906 Karl Ferdinand Braun and Guglielmo Marconi used a Galena crystal to separate the waves and make a radio. This will be the beginning of the reception on galena posts.
