Beige Gorgonian (Leptogorgia alba) on a Black Base

PUVE088

This beige filament gorgonian (Leptogorgia alba), native to tropical waters, is known for its long, thin, and sparsely branched structure, typical of the Leptogorgia family, often referred to as “sea whips.” Its color ranges from beige to pale yellow. Like all gorgonians, it consists of polyps that feed on plankton by filtering seawater.
Displayed on a black wooden base, this specimen is collected in accordance with local regulations. It is not listed under CITES, allowing for its legal and responsible trade.
