Labradorite slab (Madagascar) 56cm high

This labradorite slab is a new thing: manage to follow a dazzling crystal over 50cm, but only 1 cm thick... we’ve been doing it since this year only. It comes from the deposits near Maniry, in southwestern Madagascar—one of the island’s most renowned sources of high-quality feldspar. The name “labradorite” comes from the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, where the mineral was first identified in the 18th century. But Madagascar offers the most vivid specimens, thanks to its unique geological conditions.
The stone has been fully polished on both faces, revealing the full effect of its labradorescence: shimmering flashes of blue surounded by gold, taking the shape of small islands from the base to the top. and even some purple hues on the right.
