Cubic PYRITE with QUARTZ from Peru
PUMI2738
This PYRITE specimen from Peru combines large, sharply defined cubes — some measuring nearly 5 cm along their edges — with fine QUARTZ crystals that have grown in the gaps between them. The contrast between the metallic gold sheen of pyrite and the clear quartz highlights the complexity of its hydrothermal formation.
The cubes, almost perfectly geometric, reflect the characteristic symmetry of pyrite, nicknamed “fool’s gold.”
A natural curiosity remarkable for its balance between crystalline precision and mineral abundance — a super shiny specimen from the renowned Huanzala deposits.
