The Lambis truncata is the largest representative of the Strombidae, with a shell up to 30 cm. The shell is massive and biconic, heavy and thick. The shell labre has six digitiform extensions. Strombes are herbivorous, and move by small jumps on their horned operculum. It is a slow-growing, long-lived species.
Found in the shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific, it lives between 5 and 30 meters deep.
