Tsavo lion with septaria
PU673
This surprising Lion (Panthera Leo Leo) is of a rare subspecies of Kenya: the lions of Tsavo (based on the name of the national park). The males of this subspecies have a little developed mane. 2 members of this species even ate 130 workers who built a bridge there in 1898. This one was born in Italy in the zoo of Bergamo. He lived in Lombardy with 2 lionesses. When he died, at the respectable age of 18 years, we decided to choose him a definitive posture. He is the guard of special Septaria of Madagascar which we can open to discover the internal crystallization of black calcite. Impressive but not aggressive. Definitively a noble animal.
