White Peacock Taxidermy on Baroque Silver-Plated Stand

PU1214

The white peacock is a striking variation of the Indian peafowl (Pavo cristatus), caused by a genetic mutation known as leucism. Unlike albinism, this condition gives the bird a completely white plumage while preserving its dark eyes. The white peacock has long fascinated observers with its rarity and serene presence.
Born and raised in captivity in Italy, this specimen has been expertly taxidermied to maintain the lightness and delicate texture of its feathers. This species is not subject to CITES regulations.
Its commanding presence is not only due to its plumage but also to its ornate baroque-style stand, crafted from silver-plated brass, reminiscent of the grand European cabinets of curiosities. With a total height of 159 cm, this unique piece stands at the crossroads of natural history and art, offering both elegance and scientific interest.
