PU1258
This PTEROPUS VAMPYRUS, commonly known as the large flying fox, is the world’s largest bat species. With a wingspan of over 1.30 metres, it reveals both the power and delicacy of its anatomy.
Despite its impressive teeth, this species is entirely frugivorous. It feeds mainly on ripe tropical fruits and plays a key ecological role in pollination and seed dispersal across Southeast Asian forests.
This specimen originates from Indonesia and was legally imported in 2007.
One of nature’s most extraordinary flying mammals, mounted as a wall display.
