Set of 4 minerals on black cubes
MI156
Collection of 4 minerals displayed on black brass mini cubes: The surprising Cubic Pyrite on matrix from Navajun in Spain, province of Rioja. These often isolated cubes were formed in a much softer mother-rock (river sediments deposited during the Jurassic 150 Million years ago); They contrast enormously with this white and matte rock -the Marl- as they shine so much. The optical Calcite of Mexico with its capacity of double refraction: everything we look through this mineral (like a book) is split. The light beam through it is divided in two. Chalcopyrite: it is a mineral of hydrothermal origin, which is part of copper sulphides and which presents magnificent colors. It comes from Mexico. -And finally the dodecahedral Pyrite from Peru.
