Amazonite prism (Madagascar)

Of course this name comes from South America since it would have been discovered it in the Amazon. If we find this mineral (belonging to the feldspar group, and so rather tender), in Brazil, we also find it in Madagascar with this color reminding of a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. This color is likely to be given by small amounts of lead and water. This perfect crystal shape has been cut by man, because the Amazonite does not crystallize in tip like this one.
