Wulfenite from Morocco, in reliquary
PUMI2585
This piece of wulfenite comes from the deposits of Touissit, located in the eastern region of Morocco. Wulfenite, a lead molybdate (PbMoO₄), is known for its prismatic crystals and yellow hues leaning towards khaki, making it a highly prized mineral among collectors.
The Touissit site is renowned for the exceptional quality of its specimens, often found alongside other minerals such as galena or cerussite. These deposits, now largely depleted, make such pieces increasingly rare and sought after.
The presentation in a reliquary with a brass base enhances the natural beauty of this mineral.
