Purpurite from Brazil under rectangular glass
PUMI2597
This 2.2kg block of purpurite originates from the Pamaró mine, located in Linópolis, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It stands out for its intense violet hue, a rarity among minerals. Purpurite owes this vibrant color to its composition rich in manganese and iron phosphate, which also gives it subtle silvery reflections depending on the angle of the light.
The white veins contrasting with the deep violet are composed of feldspar, adding a graphic and natural dimension. Enclosed under a sleek rectangular globe, it rests on a black wooden base.
A mineral that would make even the finest pieces in your collection blush with envy.
