Purple Fluorite, large cube, from Morocco in UV Cage
PUMI2681
This exceptional piece comes from Taourirt in Morocco, where fluorite sometimes crystallizes into very large cubes. Here, the purple faces are dotted by small transparent quartz crystals.
Fluorite is known for its ability to fluoresce under ultraviolet light—a phenomenon linked to the presence of certain rare ions within its crystal structure. In this case, a strong bluish glow emerges under UV, transforming the velvety purple sheen of the piece into an almost dreamlike luminescence.
This display offers two modes of appreciation: in natural light, one can enjoy the deep purple of the fluorite; under UV, the piece glows from within, as if it were preserving the memory of fossil light. One mineral, two faces.
