This strong leaf, nicknamed “cobra” for its coiled shape reminiscent of a rearing snake, comes from the BACTRIS GASIPAES, a peach-palm tree native to Central America. It’s not its rarity that makes it remarkable, but rather its unexpected, almost sculptural form shaped by natural constraints: it protects the flowers from the rain.
