Zebra Calcite from Chihuahua Mexico.This alternation of dark and almost white stripes is due to the minerals dissolved in the Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) which constitutes Calcite. The transparent type is the natural color of Calcite. Like the optical Calcite (MI058). Here we have selected only those which have this nice banding of the white form with layers loaded with Manganese. Almost black. The name zebra is therefore perfectly deserved! this one also shows some Limonite on the lower part (more yellow color).
