The Italian Paesina is as beautiful as it is intriguing! Who painted these landscapes? Time alone: this «pictural» stone was formed in stages 70 million years ago. Sedimentary rock, consisting mainly of compact limestone and clay, has undergone numerous tectonic movements through the ages, creating microcracks. The discrepancies between the layers can thus give rise to interpretations, for the human eye: landscapes with churches or castles clinging to cliffs, villages againstbas... highlighted by manganese and iron oxides may have seeped into these cracks. and it always come from the area of Firenze...
