Smoky quartz – Brazil
PUMI2722
This smoky quartz comes from Brazil. It formed deep within granitic fractures, where silica-rich fluids slowly crystallized over millions of years.
Its dark brown to nearly black colour results from natural radiation within the surrounding granite, which subtly altered the atomic structure of the silicon.
The sharp terminations and well-defined facets indicate that the crystal grew freely within a cavity, unobstructed by the host rock. Near the base, lighter zones reveal the original contact with the matrix — a reminder of the transition from rough mineral to perfect crystal.
Displayed on a black base, this collector’s mineral is a true natural curiosity, ready to take its place on the shelves of your cabinet of curiosities.
