Polished Scolecite – Yeola, Maharashtra, India
PUMI2693-1
In its natural state, scolecite forms delicate, translucent white needles—fragile and arranged like radiating sprays. At Objet de Curiosité, we also work this crystalline version; that's the type that Pierre holds in his hand on picture 7. But here, the mineral takes on an entirely different appearance.
Polished on one face, this specimen reveals a soft, fibrous texture with a silky sheen. Yet, it’s a natural silicate, born from hydrothermal activity in the Yeola region of Maharashtra, India.
The exclusive circular brass mounting highlights the rounded shape.
