Agate slice on black base
PUMI1871-13
This black agate from Brazil is natural. The water that infiltrated this ancient geode for thousands of years was more or less loaded with manganese and iron. This is what gave these dark tones, varying according to the seasons and the years. It seems that the last infiltration left a Kaolin deposit (this very white layer that lines the open geode. Cut into thin slices, it becomes translucent and lets light through. Very graphic. Cut in thin slice, it becomes translucent and lets pass the light.
